Privacy Policy

Welcome to SlateOne (“the App,” “we,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App. SlateOne is an on-set logging tool: you organize work as Projects and Takes, attach reference photos and slate audio, and may imprint a PDF timeline or export a slideshow video (MP4) from Takes already on your device.

Summary: Your Projects, photos, and slate audio stay on your device in the App sandbox (we do not operate a cloud backend for that content). The App may use the internet for App Store purchases and, if you allow tracking, for attribution/analytics (see §2.1 and §4).

1. Information We Process

1.1 Content you create (stored on your device only)

Project name, optional subtitle, and tag (Rehearsal / Event / Field);
Per Take: reference photo (camera or photo library), optional slate audio (up to about 60 seconds), duration, and timestamps;
Optional project cover image;
PDF or MP4 files you generate, shared only when you choose the system share sheet.

This data is stored in the App sandbox (JSON metadata plus photos/ and audio/ files). It is not automatically synced to our cloud.

1.2 App state and Exposures (stored on your device only)

Whether onboarding was completed, UI preferences (e.g. timeline display mode);
Exposures balance, extra project slots unlocked, whether the free PDF imprint trial was used;
Local spend ledger (recent entries, up to about 30);
Processed in-app purchase transaction identifiers (to prevent duplicate grants of consumable Exposures);
Cached advertising identifier string after an ATT response (stored in on-device preferences).

1.3 Account and contact data

No registration is required, and we do not ask for your name, phone number, or email unless you voluntarily send feedback email;
We do not request location or contacts access for core App features.

2. Device Permissions

The system may prompt you only when you use related features:

You may revoke permissions in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; revoked access limits ad personalization but does not delete your Projects or Takes.

2.1 Advertising identifier (IDFA) and attribution

After launch, the App may show Apple’s App Tracking Transparency dialog. If you tap Allow, the App reads the advertising identifier (IDFA) via ASIdentifierManager and may cache it in on-device preferences. If you tap Ask App Not to Track, tracking is denied and the system returns an all-zero identifier.

The App binary may include third-party attribution SDKs (such as AppsFlyer) used for install and campaign measurement. When tracking is allowed, those services may receive the IDFA and related device/app event data over the network under their own privacy policies. IDFA is not used to read your Take photos, slate audio, or exported PDF/MP4 files.

3. Storage and Security

All project data stays in the App sandbox on your device, protected by iOS isolation;
We are not responsible for loss due to device loss, lack of backup, compromise of an unlocked device, or similar events;
Use system backup (e.g. iCloud device backup) if you need recovery. The App does not provide built-in cloud sync.

4. Sharing and Third Parties

4.1 Apple and system services

In-App Purchase (StoreKit): Consumable “Film roll” purchases are processed by Apple. We receive transaction data needed to verify purchases and credit Exposures. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
System Share / Mail: Export and feedback use the iOS share sheet or Mail; those services have their own policies.

4.2 Attribution and analytics providers

If you allow tracking, attribution SDKs (e.g. AppsFlyer) may collect device identifiers, IP address, app version, and interaction events and transmit them to the provider’s servers for fraud prevention, analytics, and marketing attribution. See the provider’s policy: AppsFlyer Privacy Policy.

4.3 Your project media (photos and slate audio) are not sold by us as a separate product.

5. Deletion

“Strip” a Take or Project in the App to delete JSON and associated photo/audio files;
Deleting the App from the home screen removes its sandbox data (except what a system backup may retain);
The sample “Demo Rehearsal” project can be deleted like any other project.

6. Children

The App is intended for general adult and professional/creative use, not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. Contact us below if you believe a child provided information without parental consent.

7. Regional Rights

Data is processed on your device. If you are in the EEA, UK, California, or other regions with privacy laws, you may have rights of access, correction, or deletion—because data is local, you can usually exercise these by deleting content in the App or uninstalling.

8. Changes

We may update this policy and change the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
